The dried fruit business was started by grandfather Francesco in the early 1900’. He was the point of reference for all those who sought quality products, local and in particular from the Ibleo area.
The business was then continued by their father until the earliest years of the 2000s.
Driven by the knowledge acquired by their grandfather and father, the Formica brothers, Francesco and Giorgio, cultivated their passion for quality products.
Thus was born the Fratelli Formica company, which today is a reference point, in Sicily and in Italy, for ingredients and products of the highest quality.
From grandfather’s experience - we are now specialists in dried fruits. The goal is to bring the best quality products to the tables of Italians but not only.
Drawn from years of experience the products marketed under the Fratelli Formica brand are mainly walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pistachios, peanuts, cashews and their derivatives or dried fruits in general.
Our products are mainly produced in Sicily, and in the whole Mediterranean area.
Since the food industry is very delicate, we only select products of the highest quality, and it is our concern to market dried fruits processed with procedures that minimize the risk of altering the flavor, aroma and appearance of the product. Finally, everything undergoes continuous laboratory testing and analysis to ensure its excellent quality.
Fratelli Formica reproposes the traditional grandmoher’s cookie recipes starting with a careful choice of the few ingredients: the best raw materials from the area are selected to give the product the authenticity that distinguishes its production. It is precisely the quality of the ingredients that make our cookies irresistible in taste, making semplicity their strong point.
"Squisiti" are the cookies of the most traditional Sicilian breakfast: good, simple and genuine they accompany your breakfast. You can find them in three variants lemon, vanilla and cinnamon , for the sweet tooh, with chocolate chips.
We also market "Funciddi" di Buccheri are delicious mushroom-shaped cookies made with toasted almonds and hazelnuts, typical of the tradition of the Ibleo area.
Finally, almond or pistacchio "Croccantino" is a typical Christmas dessert, prepared in many regions of Italy: a crunchy nougat made with almonds or pistachios and caramel.
As well as dried fruit, on the Sicilian territory we select oher ingredients of the highest quality with the aim of accompanying our customers from breakfast to dinner, guaranteeing them excellent flavor.
At Fratelli Formica brand you can also find other ingredients and of the highest choice. Sicilian oregano is included in the national list of Traditional Food Products and it's an indigenous attributable to the uniqueness of the Sicilian territory.
Sicily is home to a series of 52 varienties of both hard and soft grains, which are claimed to be indigenous to the territory.
Finally, we market other products such as Legumes, olives and dried tomatoes from our territory.
